Pickler was born Kellie dawn Pickler June 28, 1986. The young woman had a troubled childhood. At the age of two Her mother left to avoid an abusive situation. Then, in 1995, she re-entered back to the world of Pickler, and took the custody rights. However, it was not a good time for her. Pickler was reunited with her grandparents when she turned 12. The grandparents helped them through adulthood. Pickler could not be a parent to her children when they were absent. Pickler stated that time was not enough and that she had to learn how to care for the family from a very young time. Pickler took part in cheerleading teams at both her high school and middle school. In 2004, she graduated in 2004 from North Stanly High School. Pickler also tried her hand at being a beauty queen. She was named Miss Stanly Country.
