Cassandra Monique Batie, professionally known as Andra day is an American R&B singer-songwriter. Her awards include the Grammy Award, Children's and Family Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award are just a few of her many awards she's received. In addition, she was selected for the Academy Award. Andra Day is an extremely skilled and powerful performer. She's not a throwback R&B professional, but her roots in gospel jazz and the blues are evident and translates to today's music. Her first album Cheers to the Autumn (2015) was a smash record in the hiphop/R&B genre which earned her a variety of Grammy and Academy Award nominations. Stand Up for Something (2017) was her contribution to Marshall's soundtrack earned both accolades. The same year, she was a part-time actress in a biopic of Holiday's story, The United States vs. Billie Holiday (2021). Andi Mathichak was born in America. She made her television debut in shows like 666 Park Avenue, Orange Is the New Black and Blue Bloods before making her movie debut in the role of Allyson Nelson on the horror movie series Halloween and its sequels.
